Music on hold
Music on hold is what callers hear while they wait — parked, held, in a queue, or on a conference bridge. Exovo plays it from a system-wide library you manage in one place.
Managing tracks
Admin → System → Music on Hold. The Music Files tab has ten numbered slots; for each,
Upload a .wav or .mp3 track (WAV as PCM, 8 kHz, 16-bit, mono, up to 10 MB each)
or Clear it. FreeSWITCH plays every uploaded track. Uploads and removals don't take effect until
you press Save.
Under Playback Options:
- Randomize playback — shuffle the track order instead of playing through in sequence.
- Randomize per call — give each caller a different random order.
Playlists
The Playlists tab groups tracks into named sets, each backed by its own audio stream with a per-playlist Volume, Auto Gain and Shuffle. Add a playlist, name it, add its WAV/MP3 files, and it becomes selectable as a hold-music source — handy when you want different music for a sales queue than for the front-desk park.
Where it's used
The hold-music selection appears wherever a caller can be made to wait:
- Call parking — the music a parked caller hears (Admin → System → Call Parking).
- Call queues — per-queue hold music, under the queue's Voicemail & Messages.
- Held calls and conference bridges.
Each of these pickers also offers System music on hold — the default stream — so a queue or park falls back to it cleanly when you haven't chosen a specific track or playlist.
