Conference bridge

The conference bridge is a dial-in meeting room: internal users dial its extension, external participants call a DID routed to it, and everyone lands in the same audio conference.

Setting up the bridge

Admin → System → Conferencing. Set the conference extension — the number participants dial to join. To let outside callers in, point a DID at it with an inbound rule, and list your dial-in numbers in the external numbers field so they appear in invitation emails.

Max participants caps the room size (0 = unlimited), and hold music or silence covers the lobby experience.

Organizer PINs

Two levels of formality:

  • No PIN — anyone who dials the extension joins immediately; fine for internal stand-ups.
  • Force organizer PIN — participants wait on hold music until an organizer enters the PIN (4–10 digits); the meeting can't start without its host, and outside callers can't camp in an empty room.

DTMF in conferences

If participants need to send keypresses through the bridge (to control something on the far side), enable DTMF forwarding — in-band (RFC 2833), SIP INFO, or both, matching what your trunks and devices use. Off by default, and fine to leave off for ordinary meetings.

Auto-calling participants

With auto-call participants enabled, scheduled participants are dialed automatically when the organizer joins — the meeting assembles itself instead of waiting on everyone to remember the number.
